Nosworthy returns to Reggae Boyz squad

Fit-again defender Nyron Nosworthy has been recalled to the Jamaica senior Reggae Boyz squad as the country prepares to battle fellow CONCACAF team Canada in an international friendly game at the BMO Field in Toronto in next Tuesday's scheduled 6:30 pm (Jamaica time) kick-off.

The much-rated 33-year-old Bristol City central defender injured his Achilles heel during Jamaica's failed qualifying campaign for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and missed a significant chunk of the matches in the final round.

The opening round in the Red Stripe Premier League 2014/15 football season will go ahead as planned following an emergency meeting called by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) at its head office in New Kingston yesterday.

At least three clubs had threatened to withdraw from the league if various matters were not resolved but it appears things have been patched up to facilitate tomorrow's kick-off.
